– Growing Demand for SaaS-based Services, Integrated Offerings, and Channel-centric Sales Strategy Expected to Fuel Growth Despite Challenging Economy in 2009 –
Englewood, Colo. - Feb. 18, 2009 - Today, MX Logic announced that it added nearly a million new user seats to its managed email and Web security solutions in 2008. The company also said its customer base grew approximately 50 percent last year to almost 35,000 businesses, making it the largest independent provider of managed security solutions in the world. Additionally, sales driven by MX Logic channel partners rose sharply, accounting for nearly two-thirds of all revenue.
"The biggest increase in interest and demand has been amongst larger businesses because they want enterprise-grade email and Internet protection without the cost or complexity of doing it themselves," said Pete Khanna, president and Chief Operating Officer at MX Logic. "We expect demand to remain strong in 2009 as businesses look to further streamline their critical IT security processes and costs with efficient and easy-to-use services like those offered by MX Logic."
While overall spending on IT is estimated to decrease in 2009, a recent Forrester Research report anticipates that organizations of all sizes are expected to allocate more of their IT budgets to security spending this year compared to 2008. In fact, the report concluded that security spending will account for 12.6 percent of overall IT budgets among enterprises in 2009, up from 11.7 percent in 2008. Similar increases were noted for SMBs.

In 2008, approximately 65 percent of MX Logic revenue was generated through its PartnerFocus program members, an increase of 25 percent over 2007 and 55 percent over 2006 revenue mix percentages. The company aims to push that figure closer to 90 percent by the end of 2009.
